Abstract
Abstract There are two modifications to the Padlock Shackle, the first is the addition of a Shackle Shim Guard and the second is the addition of a Anti Shim Mechanism. These modifications are an added security feature to prevent the picking of a Combination Padlock. Combination Padlocks have a dial with numbers showing and each padlock includes a number combination that when entered opens the padlock. There is another way of opening the padlock using a specially shaped cut out section of an Aluminium Soft Drink Can. The way it is at right now is when the Padlock is in a locked position with Shackle inserted in the Padlock body, this cut out section of an Aluminium Soft Drink Can can be inserted into the hole of the Padlock body where the Shackle is inserted and jiggled or manouvered until the Shackle is released. The two modifications to the Padlock Shackle will eliminate the ability to open the Padlock by using a section of Aluminium Can and only allow the Padlock to be unlocked by entering the combination number that came with the Padlock or by a Key-Override also available with the Padlocks. Both of these opening methods are the only opening methods designed to be used on this type of Padlock, not a section of Aluminium Can or the like.
