Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT Name of Applicant: Actual Inventors: Address for Service: BAILEY ENTERPRISES AUSTRALIA PTY. LTD.
PETER BAILEY; REBECCA BAILEY 8 YAZAKI WAY CARRUM DOWNS VICTORIA 3201 Invention Title: MULTIFUNCTION, DECORATIVE WATER TANK IV 00 5 TITLE: MULTIFUNCTION, DECORATIVE WATER TANK IV o FIELD OF THE INVENTION CK 1. This invention concerns small to large scale water tanks for both domestic and commercial storage, which add to either a garden, playground, park or outdoor area decor 00 instead of being confined to just a standalone water storage function.
r- BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Above ground water tanks that hold several hundred to several thousand litres capacity 00 tend to have both a purely functional appearance and use. Existing water tanks can vary in appearance from having straight or corrugated sides, to having ribbed sections or steel bands encircling them. The tops and bases of these tanks also vary from the relatively plain, to differing ribbed combinations. In short, all are functional in appearance and only display the aesthetics of what society conceives from water tank designs, with no design exhibiting a multifunction and/or a decorative mode.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION !0 1. The technical aspect of the apparatus is to combine a water tank, and a pond water feature. In addition, whilst creating an apparatus that incorporates both of the required functional elements, a major requirement is attaining an aesthetically pleasing product that decoratively displays the functions being used in that is a pond water feature whilst still having the functionality of The apparatus aspect of the invention provides two functions. Firstly, a water tank storage vessel which can be comprised from a multitude of different shapes, colours and textures, which Secondly depicts as its primary function to be a pond water feature arrangement.
2. The apparatus employs the use of some common 3 rd party components which are present on most existing water tank types. These components are necessary to complete the plumbing aspect of the finished apparatus, but are not claimed as adding any technical merit to the invention. These components include; a tap, an overflow fitting, a filling point fitting, various threaded fittings and PVC or similar pipe.
The apparatus of the invention typically has a one water inlet and one overflow point, but is not limited to the same locations in between the different design variants.
The inlet may be placed on a top section, on a horizontal surface or alternatively may be sited on a vertical wall. The inlet may also be placed either on an exterior or interior vessel surface. The overflow may be placed horizontally on an underlying exterior surface or 00 5 placed vertically on either an exterior or interior vessel surface depending on the variant 0 type.
(Ni All tank variants hold fittings for a tap connection, drainage and pump connection points.
O The three above specified connection types can vary in location and number dependant on N variant type, but are all limited in theory to external vertical surfaces on the vessel.
0 3. While a square shaped pond or planter water tank is pleasing enough to look at, other 00 straight sided profile variants can be rectangular, parallelogram, triangular, diamond, octagon, hexagon or other similarly vaned shape. Alternatively, other profile variants can be round, semi circular, conical, elliptical or hemispherical in shape Other versions of the apparatus may take on either abstracted or artistic formed profiles.
00 Irrespective of variant shape, variants may contain differing heights, widths, depths and cN diameters. Variants may also contain differing styles of vertical and horizontal sides and/or having varying sized recesses and/or extrusions, whether being either on a horizontal and/or a vertical plane, being both external and internal in nature. It is certain that many other shapes, profiles and configurations could also be adapted to form other tank variants P0 of a similar nature, as set out within the specification.
All of these variants should be regarded as equal, as all fall within the patent specification description listed and all can be produced from resin or plastic using rotational moulding or another equivalent plastic moulding processes using a similar manufacturing media.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Four embodiments of the invention are now described below in minor detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 referring to the drawing shows a square pond water tank in detail.
Figure 2 referring to the drawing, shows four possible variants to the pond water tank.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION WITH RESPECT TO THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 referring to the drawing, shows a square pond water tank vessel which exhibits a large square receptacle atop and an arched ribbed lower side wall pattern on each side of the vessels exterior. This vessel variant is approximately 2000 litres in capacity and has a wall section of 7 to 8mm. A more detailed description follows.
The top surface of the vessel 9, houses a square receptacle which has a floor section 7 and four vertically tapering walls 8 which is used for displaying the pond decorative element of the tank. The exterior horizontal top surface has a small radius 10, which facilitates a vertical downward step 11 on the vessel. This vertical step is used by the vessel at singular points for an inlet connection 5 and an overflow connection 6. At the base to this step, the tank profile changes direction to form an underlying vertical section 12, which flows to a small corner 00 5 radius allowing the vessel profile to change direction vertically downward to the tanks base,
O
this forms the vessels square lower main body 13. The lower square body surface has a series arched ribs 15, whose tapered wall sections 14 recess back into the tank. One of the 0 sides to the lower body, has a centre arched rib which is used in this particular instance to O house a tap fitting 3. The lower square body also has fitted on it, two external connection 0 points 4 which are located in opposing bottom corners on one side of the vessel.
Figure 2 referring the drawing, shows four possible variants to the pond water tank.
00 Figure A illustrates a square pond water tank variant as described above in Figure 1.
O Figure B illustrates an octagonal based pond water tank variant.
00
OO
Figure C illustrates an elliptically shaped pond water tank variant.
Figure D illustrates a circular or round shaped pond water tank variant.
It should be understood that the various types, shapes, modifications of, and/or additions to the invention can be made without departing from the basic nature of the invention. These modifications and/or additions are therefore considered to fall within the scope of the specification to the invention.
Claims (4)
1. A vessel which has the main function of being a water storage tank, which is also comprised substantially of a water pond feature shaped arrangement. The vessel exhibits common water tank features such as an inlet, overflow outlet, tap, drainage and connection points.
2. A water storage vessel as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the primary manufacturing medium is rotationally moulded plastic or a similarly moulded plastic type, ie; injection, vacuum, blow moulding etc.
3. A water storage vessel as claimed in any one of Claims 1-3, wherein the main exterior vessel profile shape bears resemblance to either circular, semi circular elliptical, hemispherical or flat sided shapes such as squares, rectangles, parallelogram, triangle, diamond, octagon, hexagon or other similarly vaned shape.
4. A water storage vessel as claimed in any one of Claims 1-4, wherein the size of all specified parts remain irrelevant.
