DESCRIPTION
The Cold Seal Foil is designed to seal medication into a blister pack. The seal is created when the cold seal foil is applied on a tamper evident pack using an adhesive 00 which is pressure activated and requires no heat. Heat seal has been the industry standard previously. Cold seal foils are suitable for all medication management packages including but not limited to PersoCare Systems, WebsterCare systems, Medico Pack, KompliCare Packs and PractiCare Packs.
A cold seal is preferable as it is less likely to damage medication via heat melting the outsides of capsule etc.
The cold seal foil designs available include but are not limited to various shapes to match 7 day unit and multi dose and 28 day unit and multi dose edication management systems. With, oval, dome, rectangular, square and a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
The foil can be printed on to allow for details of the medications held in individual blisters to be printed on the foil in the appropriate position.
While cold seal foils are used at this stage for medications packed at a pharmacy level they have a potential application within general pharmaceutical packaging.
The cold seal foil is a sheet of foil with paper backing with adhesive applied to match the shape of the medication management blister.
The cold seal foil can be secured to the blister using pressure developing a tamper evident seal for the medication.
The cold seal foil can be written on or printed on via a laser or other computer printer to detail medications enclosed or other information.
The cold seal foil can be fitted to any shaped blister container round, oval, dome, rectangular etc. For illustration purposes in this application rectangular blisters have been used.
