Abstract

Protection device comprises a strip (1) which is placed over an electrode (4), preferably in a manner so that it is displaced in relation to it. The strip consists of two metal strips made of different materials arranged over each other. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Spot welding tool for the resistance welding of workpieces, especially metal sheets (6, 7), using an electrode which is protected using the above device; and (2) Resistance welding method using the above spot welding tool.
