Abstract

The invention relates to running gear and a running gear head for an extendable ladder, in addition to an extendable ladder comprising stiles that are connected by rungs, a base end and an extendable end lying opposite said base end, the running gear being located in the vicinity of said extendable end. According to the invention, the running gear comprises at least one rotative bearing element, the latter (8) being provided with a brake device, which checks, brakes or locks the rotation, (arrow 10), of the bearing element (8).
