Abstract
An electric contact material comprises a metal conducting matrix and an unstable fraction incorporated into the matrix. The unstable fraction is able to decompose between the temperature of utilization of the electrical contact and the melting temperature of the metal by discharging a gas able to destabilize an electric arc. An Independent claim is also included for a method for the fabrication of this electric contact material. The electric contact material may also incorporate a refractory fraction (claimed).
