Abstract
Quaternized difurylglycolic acid 8-azabicyclo (3.2.1) octyl ester derivatives (I), and individual optical isomers, enantiomer mixtures and racemates, are new. Quaternized difurylglycolic acid 8-azabicyclo (3.2.1) octyl esters derivatives of formula (I), and individual optical isomers, enantiomer mixtures and racemates, are new. A = CH2CH2, CH=CH or oxirane-2,3-diyl; X- = anion with a single negative charge, preferably chloride, bromide, iodide, sulfate, phosphate, methanesulfonate, nitrate, maleate, acetate, citrate, fumarate, tartrate, oxalate, succinate, benzoate or p-toluenesulfonate; R = H, OH, Me, Et, CF3, CHF2 or F; R1, R2 = 1-5C alkyl (optionally substituted by 3-6C cycloalkyl, OH or halogen); or R1+R2 = 3-5C alkylene; and R3, R31 = furyl (optionally substituted by 1-3 of 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, OH, CF3, CN, NO2 or halo). Independent claims are also included for: (1) new non-quaternized intermediates of formula (IV), optionally in the form of their acid addition salts; and (2) the use of azabicyclic alcohols of formula (IV) (optionally in the form of their acid addition salts) in the production of a compound of formula (II).
