Abstract

A mobile services routing node (202) can be configured to provide the functionality of a Home Location Register (HLR) (204), a Visitor Location Register (VLR), an Equipment Identification Register (EIR) (206), and/or an Authentication Center (AuC) (210). The mobile services routing node (202) may also provide signal transfer point and/or SS7/IP gateway services. As such, the mobile services routing node (202) is adapted to receive mobile service related signaling messages, perform the necessary mobile service processing, and route response messages as required.
