Abstract

Disclosed is a device (43) for moving furniture parts (1, 2) that can be moved towards each other. Said device (43) comprises a drive unit which allows a first furniture part (2) to be drivingly moved relative to a second furniture part (1). An arm which is placed between the furniture parts (1, 2) and can be swiveled by means of the drive unit is configured such that the first furniture part (1) is drivingly moved by swiveling the arm. The inventive device is characterized, among other things, in that contact means are provided for at least temporarily coupling a final section of the arm to one of the furniture parts (2) during the swiveling movement of the arm. Also disclosed is a piece of furniture which comprises such a device and a first furniture part (2) that is movable relative to a second furniture part (1).
