Abstract

Several thin rectangular layers of veneer (1) are sandwiched and then stuck together under pressure between top (2) and bottom (3) dies of a press to form curved die-cast parts (4), which are laid on one another and pressed together in such a way as to separate the wooden parts in layers. The die-cast parts are curved in both lengthwise and cross-wise directions of the veneer layers, so that these layers form a three-dimensional, waved upper surface and the wooden parts, to achieve a grained finish, are separated form the die-cast part.
