Abstract

A simple method for assembling a cooker hob using modular components has the tray (2) assembled from extruded side flanges (6) and a bottom tray (8). The side flanges have an upper lip (6.1) which supports the hob into the aperture of the work surface (11) and a separate lip (6.2.1) to support the edges of the ceramic hob plate (10). Both lips have surface recesses to hold adhesive, one to secure the ceramic plate and one to secure a bezel (4) which provides a trim effect and hides the edge construction of the tray.
