Abstract

Pretreatment device comprises a container for a metal bolt (10), an oven (20) for transferring the metal bolt in the container into a partially liquid thixotropic state, and a transporting device for transporting and feeding the thixotropic metal bolt into a casting chamber (30). The container is a cylindrical laterally closable heating tube (14) and the pretreatment device is formed in such a way that the metal bolt can remain in the heating tube during the whole pretreatment. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the preparation of a thixotropic metal bolt in a casting chamber of a thixoforming device Preferred Features: The heating tube is made of steel or a ceramic material.
