Abstract

A liquid container is described which has a tube having side walls, on whose ends a flat bottom (3) and a lid having a pouring opening are attached, the tube consisting of paper and the bottom (3) being welded onto the tube along at least one partial edge by means of a plastic rim (21) in such a way that the flat main surface (14) of the bottom (3) is arranged at a distance from the outside cutting edge of the tube. <??>In order to design the package also for aseptic use and to make the production simple and inexpensive, provision is made for the bottom (3) to have a main surface (14) made of paper, separate from the tube, to be coated with plastic and to be provided, like the tube, with a metal intermediate layer. <??>According to the manufacturing process of such a package, the bottom (3) is prefabricated in such a way that its main surface (14) consists of the paper provided with the metal intermediate layer, that the bottom is cut out of said paper and that the main surface (14) is connected along its rim surface to a plastic rim (21), this thus prefabricated bottom (3) being placed in storage or welded onto the partial end edge. <IMAGE>
