Abstract

In the process of the invention, fresh grass (G1) is heated in an atmosphere of steam for a time T and its pores are opened. The heat-treated grass (G2) is then dewatered in a press (23). It is thus possible to extract about 70 to 80 % of the water. The hot press water may be used to preheat the fresh grass (G1). Air is used for final drying.
