Dieses Ziel wird mit einer Spielkonsole der einleitend genannten Art erreicht, die sich gemäß der Erfindung dadurch auszeichnet, daß die lokale Speichereinheit einen Satz von Einmal-Paßwörtern enthält und eine Vergleichseinrichtung vorgesehen ist, welche ein über die Eingabeeinheit eingegebenes Einmal-Paßwort mit den Einmal-Paßwörtern aus dem Satz vergleicht und nur im Falle einer Übereinstimmung eine Veränderung der Spielparameter in der lokalen Speichereinheit freigibt, woraufhin dieses Einmal-Paßwort verbraucht ist. Die Erfindung beruht auf der Erkenntnis, daß ein überaus hoher Manipulationsschutz von Spielkonsolen im Feld erreicht werden kann, indem ein Einmal- bzw. Transaktions-Paßwortsystem für jedwede Parametereinstellung an der Konsole eingesetzt wird. Einmal-Paßwortsysteme sind auf dem Gebiet des Bankwesens in Form von Transaktionsnummern (TANs) an sich bekannt. Die vorliegende Erfindung schlägt erstmals vor, Spielkonsolen mit einem TAN-System zur Autorisierung von lokalen Parameteränderungen an der Maschine auszustatten. Im Betrieb kann der Spielveranstalter einmal, beispielsweise bei der Erstaufstellung der Spielkonsole oder in regelmäßigen Abständen anläßlich der Wartung oder Überprüfung der Spielkonsole, einen vorgegebenen Satz von Einmal-Paßwörtern in der lokalen Speichereinheit ablegen.
