   Da nun die Tourenzahl der Trommel sich nach der Art des zu behandelnde Materiales richtet, während die Gesamtdauer des Prozesses, d. i. die Zeit, welcho ein Teilchen des Gutes braucht, um von einem Ende der Trommel zum anderen zu gelangen, entsprechend der jeweiligen   Wärmezufuhr gewählt werden solt,   so ergab sich bei den bisherigen Vorrichtungen mit feststehendem unveränderlichen Verhältnis zwischen der Tourenzahl der   Trommel   und der Geschwindigkeit der fortschreitenden Bewegung des Gutes der Übelstand, dass während der Perioden stärkerer   Wärmeentwicklung   das Gut verbrannt wurde, während der Perioden geringerer Wärmeentwicklung hingegen in   unfertigem   Zustande die Tronunel vorliess. 



     Dieser Übelstand   wird der vorliegenden Erfindung gemäss dadurch beseitigt, dass die Tourenzahl der Fördervorrichtung unabhängig von der mit einer gewissen, der Art des Gutes   angepassten Geschwindigkeit rotierenden Trommel vermittels   einer Vorrichtung bekannter Art während des Betriebes innerhalb weiter Grenzen gehindert und demgemäss der jeweiligen Wärmeentwicklung der Feuerung angepasst werden kann.
