Abstract

Un dispositivo para fijación de huesos y de relleno óseo, que comprende: un medio de fijación de huesos; formado por eslabones alineados formando una cadena estando un extremo de un eslabón en contacto directo con un extremo del eslabón adyacente; y un instrumento quirúrgico, compuesto por: una cánula hueca con un extremo distal con un plano inclinado y un orificio lateral adyacente a dicho plano inclinado, y un extremo proximal provisto de un medio de empuje de los eslabones; y donde los eslabones, al ser empujados, pueden deslizarse por dentro de la cánula hueca, desviarse en el plano inclinado, salir por el orificio lateral e introducirse forzadamente en tejidos de consistencia ósea enfrentados con el orificio lateral. El método de colocación del medio de fijación de huesos comprende los pasos de: a) realizar un orificio en el hueso hasta alcanzar el interior del mismo; b) opcionalmente regular una primera profundidad de penetración; c) introducir el instrumento quirúrgico por el extremo distal dentro del orificio con el orificio lateral apuntando a la fractura / fisura; d) introducir los eslabones dentro del instrumento quirúrgico; e) accionar el mecanismo de empuje; f) si no se alcanzó la profundidad deseada, recargar eslabones; g) repetir los pasos d) a f) hasta que los eslabones queden en posición; h) retirar la cánula; i) sellar el orificio con cualquier técnica del arte previo; y j) colocar los tornillos pediculares.
