Abstract
Se describen absorbentes que tienen características de lixiviación en agua superiores especialmente cuando se usan como absorbentes en depuradores semisecos (CDS), con alto porcentaje de humedad (SDA), y SO₂ totalmente húmedos. También se describen métodos para la producción de dicho absorbente potenciado por el rendimiento, y métodos para el uso de dichos absorbentes en la extracción de mercurio y posiblemente uno o más otros metales pesados u otros contaminantes de varias corrientes gaseosas. Los absorbentes son sustratos carbonáceos tratados con un compuesto que contiene bromo, especialmente bromo gaseoso y con al menos un compuesto orgánico que contiene al menos un enlace doble olefínico.
