Abstract

Recuperación de etanol a partir de un producto de etanol sin tratar obtenido a partir de la hidrogenación del ácido acético usando un proceso poca energía. El producto de etanol sin tratar es separado en una columna para producir una corriente de destilado que contiene acetato de etilo y una corriente de residuo que contiene etanol, ácido acético y agua. El producto de etanol es recuperado a partir de la corriente de residuo.Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para producir etanol que incluye: hidrogenizar ácido acético en un reactor en presencia de un catalítico para formar un producto de etanol sin tratar; separar una porción de un producto de etanol sin tratar en un primer destilado para obtener un primer destilado que contenga acetato de etilo y un primer residuo que contenga etanol, ácido acético y agua, en la que la mayoría del etanol que se encuentra en el producto de etanol sin tratar que es alimentado a la columna es removido en el primer residuo; y recuperar el etanol a partir del primer residuo.
