Abstract

Un método para producir artículos espumados, que incluye proveer una composicion de copolímero, combinar la composicion de copolímero y fibras celulosicas, aplicar calor, energía de mezclado y presion a la mezcla de la composicion de copolímero y fibras celulosicas de manera de formar una mezcla espumable, y formar el artículo espumado mediante la colocacion de la mezcla espumable en una operacion de moldeo o extrusion. La composicion de copolímero incluye un copolímero de 51% a 99,9% de monomeros primarios, de 0,1% a 49% de monomeros que contienen anhídrido, y de 0% a 25% de otros monomeros y de 0% a 30% de polímeros elastoméricos. Esto se combina a de 30% a 99,99% de composicion de copolímero con de 0,01% a 70% por fibras celulosicas de manera tal que los grupos anhídrido reaccionan con los grupos hidroxilo de la fibra celulosica de manera de producir un subproducto agente de soplado de manera de formar una mezcla espumable.
