Abstract

La presente invencion es una composicion de polietileno de alta densidad, el método para producir la misma, los artículos hachos por las mismas, y el método para realizar tales artículos. La composicion de polietileno de alta densidad segun la presente invencion incluye un primer componente, un segundo componente, y un tercer componente. El primer componente es un polímero del polietileno de alta densidad tiene una densidad en la gama de 0,940 a 0,980 g/cm3. El segundo componente es polietilen glicol, y el tercer componente es octadecil 3-(3,5-di-tert-butil4-hidroxifenil)propionato. La composicion de polietileno de alta densidad de la presente invencion tiene un índice de amarillez menor que aproximadamente -2,5 en 0 hora de envejecimiento acelerado a 100 °C, segun ASTM D-6290. El proceso para producir la composicion de polietileno de alta densidad segun la presente invencion incluye los pasos siguientes: (1) proporcionar un primer componente, en donde el primer componente es un polímero del polietileno de alta densidad que tiene una densidad en la gama de 0,940 a ,98 g/cm3; (2) proporcionar un segundo componente, en donde el segundo componente es polietilen glicol; (3) proporcionar un tercer componente, en donde el tercer componente es octadecil 3-(3,5-d-tert-butil-4-hidroxifenil) propionato; (4) mezclar el segundo y tercer componentes en el primer componente con lo cual se forma una mezcla; (5) peletizar la mezcla; y (6) con lo cual se forman las pastillas de moldeo de la composicion de polietileno de alta densidad que tiene un índice de amarillez menor que aproximadamente -2,5 en 0 horas de envejecimiento acelerado a 100 °C, segun ASTM D-6290. Los artículos segun la presente invencion comprenden la composicion de polietileno de alta densidad inventiva arriba mencionada.
