Abstract

Un proceso eficiente de energía para convertir biomasa en una lechada con alta densidad de energía y mayor contenido de carbono. El agua y la biomasa se mezclan a una temperatura y bajo una presion mucho más bajas que la usada en los procesos anteriores, pero bajo un gas no oxidativo, lo que permite la obtencion de una lechada estable que contiene hasta 60% de solidos en peso, 20-40% en peso de carbono, en la lechada. La temperatura es nominalmente de aproximadamente 200°C bajo una presion de gas no oxidativa de aproximadamente 150 libras por pulgada cuadrada, condiciones que son substancialmente menos rigurosas que las requeridas por la técnica previa.
