Abstract

Un proceso para preparar un alcohol alcoxilado que incluye la reaccion de un alcohol mono-hidroxilo inicial seleccionado de alcoholes secundarios, terciarios y sus mezclas, con oxido de alquileno en presencia de fluoruro de hidrogeno y compuesto de boro con al menos un enlace B-O. El alcohol es también un alcohol monohidroxilo primario cuando el compuesto con boro es ácido borico o anhídrido borico o su mezcla, o puede ser un alcohol mono hidroxilo primario, excepto un alcohol C14/C15 cuando reacciona con oxido de etileno en presencia de HF y trimetil borato. En lugar del mono-hidroxialcohol puede alcoxilarse el fenol del mismo modo.
