Abstract
Una disposición de flujo de metal, para moldear aleación de aluminio usando una máquina de moldeo a presión, es provista por un componente de un conjunto de matriz o de molde, para la máquina, la cual define una cavidad de matriz. El componente define por lo menos parte de una trayectoria de flujo de aleación para el flujo de aleación de aluminio desde una fuente presurizada de aleación de aluminio substancialmente fundida de la máquina a la cavidad de matriz. La trayectoria de flujo incluye por lo menos un canal de colada y un orificio de expansión controlada (al que aquí se refiere como CEP) el cual tiene una entrada a través de la cual el CEP puede recibir aleación de aluminio desde el canal de colada y una salida a través de la cual puede fluir aleación de aluminio desde el CEP para llenar la cavidad de matriz. El CEP aumenta en área de sección transversal desde la entrada a la salida del mismo para hacer que la aleación substancialmente fundida recibida dentro del canal de colada sufra una substancial reducción de velocidad de flujo en su flujo a través del CEP con lo cual la aleación de aluminio que fluye a través del CEP alcanza un estado viscoso o semi-viscoso el cual es retenido al llenar la cavidad de matriz. Una máquina de moldeo a presión incluye la disposición de flujo de metal, mientras la disposición también se usa en un proeso para moldeo a presión de aleaciones de aluminio.
