Abstract

Un aparato y método para administrar transdérmicamente un agente biológicamente activo que comprende un sistema de administración que tiene una parte (o sistema) con microproyecciones que incluye una pluralidad de microproyecciones ( o conjunto de las mismas) que se adaptan para penetrar a través del estrato córneo en la capa de epidermis subyacente, o en las capas de epidermis y dermis, una formulación que contiene el agente biológicamente activo y un aparato inductor de oscilaciones. En una realización, el agente biológicamente activo está contenido en un recubrimiento biocompatible que es aplicado a la parte con microproyecciones. En una realización adicional, el sistema de administración incluye un paquete de gel que tiene una formulación de hidrogel que contiene el agente que es dispuesta sobre la parte con microproyecciones después de la aplicación a la piel de un paciente. En una realización alternativa, el agente biológicamente activo está contenido tanto en el recubrimiento como en la formulación del hidrogel.
