Abstract
La invencion provee métodos para modificar el nivel de expresion o actividad funcional de factores tales como enzimas u otras proteínas catalíticas o proteínas estructurales, solas o en forma concertada, para modificar la frecuencia de recombinacion homologa meiotica que involucra el intercambio de informacion genética entre cromátidas no hermanas de cromosomas homologos maternos y paternos. Las etapas en las cuales puede ocurrir la modulacion incluyen: apareamiento de cromosomas homologo, formacion de rupturas del doble filamento; reseccion; invasion de filamentos; migracion de ramas; y resolucion. Se proveen también métodos de creacion de plantas y animales que utilizan la modulacion de la recombinacion homologa meiotica.
