Abstract

Se describe un acero inoxidable dúplex para ser usado en plantas de producción de urea, el cual consiste en % en masa de C:0,03 % o menos, Si: 0,5 %, Mn: 2 % o menos, P. 0,04 % o menos, S 0,003 % o menos, Cr: 26 % o más, pero menos que 28 %, Ni: 6-10 %, Mo: 0,2-1,7 %, W: más que 2 %, pero no más que 3 %, N: más que 0,3 %, pero no más que 0,4 %, siendo el resto Fe e impurezas, en el cual el contenido de Cu como impureza no es mayor que 0,3 %. El acero inoxidable dúplex también puede contener Ca, Ce, y B, siendo deseable que los niveles de contenido de Al y O, como impureza no sean mayores que 0,05% y 0,01 % respectivamente. Más aún resulta preferible que el incremento de la dureza Vickers del acero no sea mayor que 80, antes y después que el acero tratado a recocido de disolución sea sometido a un tratamiento térmico de 800°C durante 30 minutos y a un enfriamiento subsiguiente en agua. Este acero inoxidable dúplex posee elevada resistencia a la corrosión.
