Abstract
La presente invencion proporciona un material catodico mejorado constituido por dioxido de manganeso electrolítico que tiene alta capacidad de descarga aelevados regímenes de descarga, así como métodos para la produccion de dicho dioxido demanganeso electrolítico por electrolisis en una cuba electrolítica. Losmétodos comprenden básicamente mantener una solucion acuosa caliente de electrolito de alta pureza que comprende ácido sulfurico y sulfato de manganeso en lacuba electrolítica,estando pre sente el sulfato de manganeso en la solucion de manera que contenga de 5 a 50 gramos de manganeso por litro de solucion. Seaplica una corriente eléctrica a los electrodos de la cuba electrolítica de manera que la densidad de corriente enel electrodo anodico sea de 0,26 a 0,64amperios por decímetro cuadrado.
