Abstract
El porcentaje de potencia de aumento de cerca formada sobre la superficie frontal versus la formadasobre la su perfice posterior se deja variar entre casi 0% y casi 100% siendo sustancialmente toda potencia posterior y casi 100% siendo sustancialmente todaThe present invention provides a contact or intraocular lens in which the optical power is divided between the front surface of the lens and the rear surface of the lens. The division between the front surface and the rear surface can vary across a wide spectrum, in the range from almost all front surface power to almost all rear surface power, and all points in between, depending on the particular lens requirements . The lens can be of the type that balances the distribution of near, intermediate and far vision focal corrections to the type of human activity typically suffered in various lighting conditions. The lens can also be of the type that equals the particular dimensions of a contact lens to suit the size of the user's pupil as a function of the intensity of illumination. The ophthalmological lens can be of the type designed to provide predominantly distance correction under high illumination, distance correction and near division practically divided under moderate lighting conditions, and to provide intermediate vision correction under moderate lighting levels. The lens can also be of the type designed to balance the user's pupil size as a function of illumination level, and in preferred embodiments, also applying size parameters as a function of the user's age. The lens design according to the present invention is such that the front increase power a and the subsequent magnification power b are combined cumulatively, a + b, to provide 100% of the required optical power. To achieve this division of frontal power and posterior power, substantially the same concentric pattern is formed both on the front surface and on the rear surface of the lens. The percentage of near-rising power formed on the front surface versus that formed on its posterior profile is allowed to vary between almost 0% and almost 100% being substantially all subsequent power and almost 100% being substantially all
