Abstract

Emulsiones acuosas que comprenden una fase acuosa y una fase polimérica de dispersion en dicha fase acuosa, caracterizada porque la fase dispersadacomprende partículas preparadas en un procedimiento de polimerizacion de multiples etapas endonde un monomero de primera etapa o una mezcla de losmismos es polimerizado en dicha primera etapa, en donde el monomero o mezcla de monomeros de la primera etapa se polimeriza para formar un polímero que poseeuna T1 no mayor de 25°C y, un monomeroo mezcla de monomeros de la segunda etapa en polimerizado en una segunda etapa, en donde el monomero o mezcla demonomeros de la segunda etapa se polimeriza para formar un polímero con una T1 no mayor de 60°C, en donde los monomeros polimerizados en dicha primera etapaconstituyen del 50% al 95% del peso de las partículas de multiples etapas, y los monomeros polimerizados en dicha segunda etapa constituyen del 3% al 50% enpeso del peso de las partículas de multiples etapas, en donde laspartículas de multiples etapas contienen en forma polimerizada del 0,1% al 2% en peso(en base a las partículas de multiples etapas) de un monomero de adicion polimerizable y etilénicamente insaturado que contiene por lo menos dos gruposcarboxilo y carboxilato y opcionalmente entre 0,5% y 3% en peso de un monomero de adicion polimerizable y etilénicamente insaturado que contiene un grupocarboxilo o carboxilato unico, siempre que cuando el monomero de adicion polimerizable y etilénicamente insaturado que contiene un unico grupo carboxiloo carboxilato no se encuentre presente, la cantidad del monomero de adicion polimerizable y etilénicamente insaturado que contiene por lo menos dos gruposcarboxilo o carboxilato sea del 0,85 al 2% en peso del contenido de monomero de las partículas de multiples etapas.
