The isocyanate binder also reacts with the hydroxyl groups in the cellulose and hemicellulose filaments of the wood material to allow the formation of chemical and physical bonds with the wood material. The oriented filament plate that comes out of the press has a higher moisture content and is more resistant to thick swelling under wet conditions.
