Abstract

Se revela un aplicador para insertar una sustancia en una cavidad corporal. El aplicador es de especial utilidad para insertar un tampón catamenial en lavagina de una mujer. El aplicador comprende un miembro tubular formado de por lo menos unacapa de papel que tiene una superficie exterior. El miembrotubular es capaz de sostener la sustancia que se va a insertar. La superficie exterior del miembro tubular está revestida de un revestimiento compostableformado por al menos un 98 porciento, e n peso, de un material polimérico. El revestimiento suministra al miembro tubular un coeficiiente seco de friccióncinética que oscila entre 0,62 y 0,86 y un coeficiente húmedo de fricción cinética que oscila entre 0,69 y 1,12.Estos valores d e coeficiente seco yhúmedo de fricción cinética facilitan la inserción del aplicador en la cavidad corporal. También se revela un aparato para revestir una tira de papel y unmétodo para formar un aplicador de papel que contiene unrevestimiento compostable.
