Abstract
Se relaciona con el campo de la Ingeniería y la Biotecnología y en particular con el uso de un péptido derivado de la GnRH para lainmunocastracion de mamíferos. En mamíferos, se ha ensayado la vacunacion con la hormona liberadora de lagon odatropina (GnRH, siglas en inglés), con el finde provocar una respuesta inmune que neutralice la actividad de dicha hormona. Se utiliza una variante de la GnRH de mamíferos que presenta un cambio de unresiduo glicina por un residuo prolina enla po sicion 6 resultando la siguiente secuencia: Glu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Pro-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly. Este cambioha mostrado inducir una respuesta inmune superior a la de la GnRH natural, cuando ambas están acopladas a una misma proteínaportadora, en experimentosrealizados en cerdos. Este mismo resultado es de esperar en cualquier otro mamífero ya que esta hormona es conservada en todas las especies.
