Abstract
Un método para fabricar hierro metálico en el que un conglomerado que contiene óxido de hierro, tal como mineral de hierro o similar y un agentereductor carbonoso, tal como carbón o similar, se usa como material, y el óxido de hierro se reducea través de la aplicación de calor, fabricando de estamanera hierro metálico. En el curso de esta reducción se genera una envoltura compuesta de hierro metálico y se hace crecer sobre la superficie del compacto,y la escoria se agrega dentro de lae nvoltura. Esta reducción continúa hasta que no está presente substancialmente óxido de hierro dentro de la envoltura dehierro metálico. Posteriormente se hace el calentamiento para fundir el hierro metálico y la escoria. El hierro metálicofundid o y la escoria fundida seseparan uno del otro , obteniendo de esta manera hierro metálico con una relación de metalización relativamente grande. Por medio de un aparato parafabricar hierro metálico de la presente invención se lleva ala prácti ca eficientemente este método y se puede fabricar hierro metálico que tiene unaalta pureza de forma continua y productiva no sólo a partir del óxido de hierro que tiene un alto contenido de hierro sino también a partir de óxido dehierroque ti ene un contenido de hierro relativamente bajo.
