Abstract
A partir de una mezcla que contiene tocoferol, grasas y/o derivados de grasas, mas especificamente acidos grasos, y opcionalmente esterol y/oderivados de esterol, los acidos grasos libres presentes en la mezcla son esterificados con unalc ohol en tanto los gliceridos grasos sontransesterificados con un alcohol en presencia de un catalizador oxido de zinc y/o hidroxido de zinc. Luego de las esterificaciones, el exceso de alcoholinferior es destilado de la mezcla de reaccion. Elcatali zador de transesterificacion y el glicerol presente, en su caso, son eliminados en tantoel alquil ester de acido graso es destilado de la mezcla. La destilacion de los alquil esteres de acidos grados puede realizarse con unacolumna re vestidaen secuencia con un evaporador de pelicula deslizante. Es posible la recuperacion simultanea de tocoferol y esterol. Los tocoferoles y esterolespueden ser separados a traves de la cristalizacion de los esteroles a partirde una mezc la de disolventes organicos.
