Abstract

A tea leaf harvester (11) saddled on a tractor (13) having an engine under 30 HP. The harvester apparatus comprises cutter members (15), a pneumatic conveyor in the form of tubing (25), a 600-kg container (35) and a blower (51). In one embodiment, the container is sealed and a blower generates a vacuum therein for aspiring the leaves through the tubing. In another embodiment, the pneumatic conveyor may have an initial span for span formed by a venturi tube (42) in the side of which there is a suction inlet (41) at the end of a conveyor belt (37) which accumulates the product forthcoming from the cutter members, thereby drastically reducing power requirements.
