Abstract

The present invention provides for compounds of formula (I) wherein X, Y, and R1 have any of the values defined in the specification, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, that are useful as agents in the treatment of diseases and conditions mediated and modulated by CFTR, including cystic fibrosis, Sjiigren's syndrome, pancreatic insuf­ficiency, chronic obstructive lung disease, and chronic obstructive airway disease. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions comprised of one or more compounds of formula (I).

Claims (1)

We claim:
1. A compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R1 is H or C1-C3 alkyl; X is a (a) or formula (b) R3 0 RZA> R23 O R6 R5 R5 If R4 or R7 (21) (b) wherein R”, R213, R”, and R213, are each independently hydrogen or n; R3, R4, R6, and R7, are each independently hydrogen, C1-C3 alkyl, or halogen; R5, at each occurrence, is independently hydrogen, C1-C3 alkyl, C2-C4 alkenyl, or C1-C3 haloalkyl, X1A is O or CH2; X1B is O or CH2; Y is -G1, or Y is formula (c), (d), (e), (f), or (g); | mix/m.
