Abstract
Mixed allergen composition comprising a nut allergen, an animal allergen and a non-nut plant allergen wherein the composition comprises walnut, hazelnut, shrimp, salmon, hen’s egg, cow’s milk, peanut, cashew, almond, and wheat allergens; and wherein each allergen is present in the composition in equal weight. Also provided are methods of treating food allergy in a subject, wherein the subject is a juvenile, an adult or is pregnant with a foetus or suckling an infant.
Claims (17)
1.A mixed allergen composition comprising: a nut allergen; an animal allergen; and a non-nut plant allergen; wherein the composition comprises walnut, hazelnut, shrimp, salmon, hen’s egg, cow’s milk, peanut, cashew, almond, and wheat allergens; and wherein each allergen is present in the composition in equal weight.
2.The mixed allergen composition of claim 1, wherein the composition comprises at least fifteen different allergens, including walnut, hazelnut, shrimp, salmon, hen’s egg, cow’s milk, peanut, cashew, almond, and wheat allergens.
3.The mixed allergen composition of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the composition further comprises a biotic agent.
4.The mixed allergen composition of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the composition further comprises a vitamin.
5.The mixed allergen composition of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the peanut allergen is peanut complete allergen, the hazelnut allergen is hazelnut complete allergen, and the walnut allergen is walnut complete allergen.
6.The mixed allergen composition of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the wheat allergen is wheat complete allergen.
7.The mixed allergen composition of claim 4, wherein the vitamin is selected from the group consisting of vitamin D and vitamin C.
8. The mixed allergen composition of claim 7, wherein the vitamin is vitamin D.
9.The mixed allergen composition of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the composition comprises 30 mg by protein weight of each allergen present.
10.The mixed allergen composition of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the composition is a powder.
11.The mixed allergen composition of claim 10, wherein the composition further comprises a physiologically acceptable delivery vehicle.
12.The mixed allergen composition of claim 11, wherein the delivery vehicle is an ingestible delivery vehicle, a topical delivery vehicle or an injectable delivery vehicle.
13.The mixed allergen composition of claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the composition is an oral, topical or injectable formulation.
14. Use of the mixed allergen composition of any one of claims 1-13 in the preparation of a medicament for treating a food allergy in a subject.
15.Use of claim 14, wherein the subject is a juvenile.
16.Use of claim 14, wherein the subject is an adult.
17.Use of claim 14, wherein the subject is pregnant with a fetus or suckling an infant
