Abstract
Avfall forbrennes i et forbrenningsrom (1). De her- under frembrakte, oksygenholdige røkgasser inn- føres i et virvelsjikt i et etterforbrenningskammer (5) og etterforbrennes. Faste stoffer som føres ut med røkgassene fra etterforbrenningskammeret (5), skilles fra røkgassene i en støvutskiller (9) og føres tilbake til etterforbrenningskammeret (5), slik at det skaffes et sirkulerende virvelsjikt, som bevirker en meget homogen temperaturfordeling i etterfor- brenningskammeret (5) og samtidig muliggjør en meget effektiv kjøling av røkgassene. Det gis avkall på en sekundæroksygentilførsel for etterfor- brenningen, noe som muliggjør en reduksjon av bygningsvolumet av etterforbrenningskammeret (5) såvel som de etterkoblede varmegjenvinnings- og gassrengjøringsinnretninger, og en dermed resul- terende bedring av virkningsgraden.
