Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for å produsere en jern-arsenikk forbindelse ved å tilsette et oksidasjonsmiddel til en vannholdig løsning inneholdende arsenikkioner og bivalente jernioner og å tillate en jern-arsenikk forbindelse presipiteringsreaksjon å skride frem under omrøring av løsningen, hvor presipiteringsreaksjonen er terminert ved en pH på løsning i området av 0 til 1. Når arsenikkonsentrasjon av pre-reaksjonsløsningen er 25 g/I eller større, kan reaksjonen bli terminert ved en pH på løsning i området av - 0,45 til 1,2. pH av pre-reaksjonsløsningen er fortrinnsvis større enn 0 og ikke større enn 2,0. Et ferrosulfat kan bli benyttet som kilden for de bivalente jernionene. Til og med når en mengde av urene elementer er tilstede i den arsenikkinneholdende løsningen, er fremgangsmåten ikke desto mindre i stand til å danne en skorodittforbindelse utmerket i krystallinitet i formen av en kompakt forbindelse så vidt svellbar ved fuktighet og lignende, dvs. en jern-arsenikk forbindelse utmerket i filtrerbarhet.
