Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for casting liquid electrolyte from aluminum electrolysis cells. Liquid electrolyte is continuously filled in an inlet opening at one end of a rotating drum which is pre-filled partially with particulate solidified electrolyte, whereby the liquid electrolyte solidifies in the form of particles. The solidified particles are continuously discharged at the other end of the drum through an outlet opening which is at a lower level than the opening for filling of liquid electrolyte.
