Abstract

Et metallisk, invertert L-formet implantat blir brukt for å danne en ny overflate på den overordnede fasetten til den underordnede rygghvirvelen begrenset til fasettledd (32) beliggende på ryggraden, Occiput-Cl til L5-S1. Det metalhske implantatet er høyt polert på sin utside og teksturert på sin indre overflate. Det blir mekanisk krympet på plass uten bruk av sement eller stilkskruer. Det skjer en permanent fiksering når beninnveksten på en ru, porøs overflate på innsiden av implantatet. Implantatet anvendes i en hemi- arthroplastisk metode som danner ny overflate på halvdelen av fasettleddet (32), hvilket gir en glatt, smertefii artikulering av de ødelagte eller sykelig spinalfasetdeddene (32) uten behov for større kirurgiske inngrep eller rehabilitering, med betydelig mindre risiko for pasienten.
