Abstract
Fremgangsmåte for å bestemme på stedet et forhold mellom den seismiske hastighet og stresstilstanden i en undergrunnsformasjon som befinner seg under en overflate utsatt for tidsendrende overflatebelastende tilstander, hvilken fremgangsmåte omfatter å velge et forhold mellom den seismiske hastighet og tilstanden av stress, som inneholder minst en ukjent parameter, (b) plassere en seismisk kilde på overflaten eller i et borehull som penetrerer undergrunnsformasjonen, og en seismisk mottaker i avstand fra den seismiske kilde på overflaten eller i et andre borehull, bestemme på to forskjellig tidspunkter, den seismiske hastighet av formasjonen langs en bane fra den seismiske kilde til den seismiske mottaker, konvertere forskjellen overflatebelastende tilstander ved de to tidspunktene i en forskjell i tilstanden av stress i undergrunnsformasjonen og beregne den eller de ukjente parametere som bestemmer forholdet fra de seismiske hastigheter og tilstanden av stress i undergrunnsformasjonen.
