Abstract
Det er beskrevet fremgangsmåter for analyse av auskultatoriske lyder for å hjelpe en medisinsk fagperson i å diagnostisere fysiologiske tilstander hos en pasient. Et dataanalysesystem anvender for eksempel singulærverdidekomposisjon på auskultatoriske lyder som er forbundet med kjente fysiologiske tilstander for å definere en mengde av en eller flere sykdomsområder i et flerdimensjonalt rom. En diagnoseanordning så som et elektronisk stetoskop eller en PDA (personal digital assistant) anvender konfigurasjonsdata fra dataanalysesystemet for å generere en mengde av en eller flere vektorer inne i det flerdimensjonale rommet som er representative for auskultatoriske lyder forbundet med en pasient. Diagnoseanordningen leverer en diagnosemelding forbundet med en fysiologisk tilstand hos pasienten basert på orienteringen av vektorene relativ til sykdomsområdene i det flerdimensjonale rommet.
