Abstract

Oppfinnelsen angår en fremgangsmåte og en anordning for fjerningen av konsentrerte luktgasser i en cellulosefabrikk. According to the method, the concentrated odorous gases containing sulfur compounds are collected from the odor gases of the sulfate cellulose plant and incinerated with sub-stoichiometric amounts of air to oxidize the sulfur compounds, so that at least a substantial portion of the sulfur compounds are oxidized to elemental sulfur. The elemental sulfur is recovered in a liquid or solid form. They can be returned to the process or used in other processes.
