Abstract
På et stempel for en stor motor, med én av et jernmateriale bestående stempeltopp (1) som har omløpende stempelringspor (4) for opptak av en respektiv stempelring (3), idet i det minste det øverste, nærmest forbrenningsrommet beliggende stempelringspor (4) er forsynt med et slitasjebeskyttelsessjikt (5) i området ved den sideflaten som ligger lengst fra forbrenningsrommet, kan det oppnås en høy sliteevne og levetid for slitasjebeskyttelsessjiktet (5) dersom slitasjebeskyttelsessjiktet (5) har en metallisk matrise (7) hvori det er innleiret bærepartikler (6), hvilke bærepartikler har en større hardhet enn krom. Slitasjebeskyttelsessjiktet (5) kan påsprøytes, påsmeltes eller påloddes.
