Abstract

Smøremiddel-unnslippingspassasjer er tildannet i gjengene anvendt for å forbinde et rørelement til et ytterligere rørelement. Passasjene fører innesperret gjengesmøremiddel ut av gjengearealet for å hindre at det oppstår høye smøremiddeltrykk som kan skade eller bevirke uriktig kopling av gjengeforbindelsen. Passasjene kan være riller i toppene av gjengetennene og/eller kan være hjørneavfasninger på gjengetennene. I et lederrør eller annen rørsammenstilling som anvender aksielt atskilte indre og ytre tetninger ved hver aksiell ende av gjengearealet danner unnslippingspassasjene en skrueformet strømningbane gjennom det inngripende gjengeareal. Den ytre tetning hindrer inntrengning av korrosive fluider i gjengearealet og den indre tetning hindrer lekkasje gjennom gjengearealet fra det indre av lederrøret. Når smøremiddeltrykket øker for sterkt under sammenstilling eller slagbelastning av forbindelsen unnslipper smøremiddelet forbi tetningene for å hindre skade på forbindelsen. Når de anvendes med en kileformet gjenge eller andre metall-til-metall-gjengeinngrepskonstruksjoner, kan unnslippingspassasjene avbrytes ved et eller annet punkt mellom deres skrueformede bane for å tilveiebringe en trykktetning ved nevnte avbrytningspunkt. Utslipping av innesperret smøremiddel fra en kileformet gjengeforbindelse tillater reproduserbare endelige koplingsposisjoner som sikrer optimal trykktetning.
