For avfukting av klesplagg (2) er det kjent å sentrifugere disse, å presse fuktighet ut av dem eller tørke dem ved hjelp av varme og luft. For å avfukte klesplagg (2) skånsomt og med et lite energiforbruk, blir klesplaggene (2) ifølge oppfinnelsen brakt i berøring med minst ett sugelegeme (20) av et sugedyktig materiale. Fordelaktig blir det benyttet et rundtløpende sugelegeme (20) hvis partier kontinuerlig vekselvis blir brakt i berøring med et klesplagg (2) og avfuktet ved utpressing.
