Abstract
Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av ammoniumnitrat- legemer i partikkelform, hvori en ammoniumnitrat/vann flytende blanding inneholdende minst 92%, og fortrinnsvis høyst 97,5 vekt-% ammoniumnitrat, eventuelt med en andel av ammoniumnitratet erstattet med alkali- og/eller jordalkalimetallnitrat, og en liten mengde av polystyrensulfonatkrystallform- modifiseringsmiddel, sprayes som dråper inn i en atmosfære hvori avkjøling bevirker krystallisasjon av ammoniumnitratet og hvor krystallpartiklene tørkes for å fjerne fuktighet, hvor den flytende blandingen også inneholder ammoniumsulfat, idet konsentrasjonen av polystyrensulfonat i den flytende blandingen er minst 0,01%, fortrinnsvis i området 0,02 til 0,06 vekt-%, og konsentrasjonen av ammoniumsulfat i den flytende blandingen er større enn den av polystyrensulfonatet, og minst 0,04%, fortrinnsvis i området 0,06 til 0,15 vekt-%. Ammoniumnitratlegemer, fortrinnsvis priller, fremstilt ved frem- gangsmåten, kan inneholde mindre enn 0,1 vekt-% vann og være i stand til å absorbere ikke mindre enn 6% av sin vekt av brennstoffolje samtidig som et hellbart partikkelformig materiale opprettholdes.
