Abstract

The eye switch can be used by a handicapped person who has lost the power of speech, but still has good eyesight. The edge of a fitting around one of the eyes is fitted with one IR radiator (2) and two IR detectors (1). The two detectors can be set as to receive IR radiation within a relatively narrow band. The IR radiator is an LED and the detectors are phototransistors, each of which is provided with a device for setting the base voltage independently. The IR radiator and the detectors are fitted on a support material, with a high thermal conductivity coefficient.
